Rometravels is pleased to present some unusual itineraries and list that are off-the-beaten paths. We may do a tour combination.

 

IMPORTANT: below there is the list and does not means that they can be seen in one day only,l especially for itinerary number 7!

 

1) The Fountains and the Squares of Rome: We may start with the two Renaissance fountains of Piazza Farnese with their enormous basements removed from the Baths of Caracalla Then we may proceed through Campo dei Fiori visiting Piazza Navona with the three fountains: the Four Rivers by Bernini, the Moore and the Neptune, of The Italian Renaissance. A quick visit to the Turtles' Fountain by Bernini in the Jewish Area and then the little fountain in front of the Pantheon, the Fountain of the " Barcaccia " at the Spanish Steps by Bernini's father, Pietro, the Baboon in Via del Babuino, one of the seven  "talking statues" of Rome, where satirical pieces, strictly anonymous, used to be posted and having fun of local politicians, monsignors and cardinals. Fountain of the Bees and the Triton's Fountain by Bernini in Piazza Barberini, and, of course, the Trevi Fountain. Then, Fountain of Moses in Piazza San Bernardo to end with the Fountain of the Naiads.

 

2) Medieval Cloisters of: San John in the Lateran ( Rome Cathedral ), Santi Quattro Coronati, Saint Clement, Santa Sabina, San Paul's Outside the Walls , St. Lawrence Outside the Walls, Ste. Agnes Outside the Walls.

 
3) The Medieval Rome includes the Tiber Island ( Isola Tiberina ) with its remains, and Basilica of St. Bartholomew, then crossing the Tiber, we will see the Trastevere Area. Piazza in Piscinula, Arco dei Tolomei, and after a few narrow streets, in front of the magnificent Basilica of Santa Cecilia. Then, Piazza Sonnino, the Basilica of San Crisogono to end with one of the top ten Basilicas in Rome: Ste. Mary in Trastevere ( Santa Maria in Trastevere ).
 
4) On the Tiber with the Old Roman Bridges: boat excursions / boat night tours  and visit of, amongst the others: Tiber Island, Fabricius Bridge, Caestius Bridge, Sixtus Bridge and Bernini Angels' Bridge.
 

5) The Egyptian Rome Located in 13 different Squares of Rome:  Navona Square, Piazza della Minerva, Spanish Steps, Piazza Monte Citorio, Piazza della Rotonda ( the Pantheon Rome ) Piazza del Popolo , Villa Medici, Villa Celimontana , the Termini Station, Quirinal Hill, Ste. Mary Major,  St. John in the Lateran ( Rome Cathedral ) and, of course, the Vatican in St. Peter's Square.

 

6) The " Palazzi " ( Palaces ) of the Roman Aristocracy. You may discover Rome also through some of the most outstanding and huge current  residences of the Nobility. Besides the Borghese Gallery and Museum, we will visit the Barberini Palace, Colonna Palace, Corsini Palace and the Doria - Pamphilj Palace. Rometravels may rent for you for exclusive use most of these Palaces along with their painting Galleries, statues and wonderful private apartments.

 

7) The Places of Saints: for the Catholic Pilgrimages also. Rome Churches, Monasteries or Convents  related to the cult of many Saints: St. Benedict in Piscinula ( St. Benedict ) , San Gregorio Magno ( St. Gregory's ), Santa Francesca Romana, Monastery of Tor de' Specchi ( where St. Frances lived ), Church of Jesus and Rooms of St. Ignatius of Loyola  ( it is where the founder of Gesuites lived ), Ste. Catherine of Siena in Santa Maria Sopra Minerva,   St. Batholomew, Church of  St. Girolamo della Carità  ( St. James );  Ste. Sabine ( it is where St. Dominic studied );   Ss. Apostoli ( Ss. Philip and James ),  St. Clement,  St. Lawrence Outside the Walls ( St. Lawrence ) , St. Sebastian Outside the Walls by and the Catacombs of St. Sebastian, Ste. Agnes Outside the Walls ( Ste. Agnes ). Relics related to our Saviour: Ste. Praxedis, San John, Santa Croce in Gerusalemme ( Holy Cross in Gerusalem ), Ste. Mary Major. Relics related with St.Peter: the Vatican, the Lateran, the Appian Way, St Peter's in Chains ( where the Moses is ); Saint Paul.
